This one's a bit of fun. It might even convert you to Adam Sandler - I know there are a lot of you out
there who can't stand him.
"The Zohan" is like the bionic man - superhuman abilities in just about everything. He's an Israeli fighty man, way better
than any of your weedy Arnies or James Bonds. Trouble is, he's had enough of the shooty slappy stuff and wants to be a
hairdresser instead. Yeah, I know, I thought it sounded crap too, but it's way better than it sounds. True, it's
potentially offensive, but then so are the Teletubbies. There are plenty of cameos - all poking fun at themselves -
including the most precious bint of all, Mariah Carey, and some very carefully placed special effects that really help
the fun factor.
You Don't Mess With The Zohan is really rather good. Gleefully ridiculous in all the right ways, it treads on some
sensitive areas but gets away with them thanks to its inherent sense of fun.
I enjoyed this film: 4/5
I think the average moviegoer will enjoy it: 3/5
Testosterone Satisfaction Rating: 1/5
To enjoy this film you should be: not touchy about the Middle East.
You Don't Mess With The Zohan was released in the UK on 15th August 2008.
