Stuck

Stuck

Cast: Mena Suvari, Stephen Rea, Russell Hornsby.

Directed by Stuart Gordon.

Story: Someone gets stuck, somewhere.

Running Time: 1hr 34 minutes.

No UK Certificate yet, US Certificate R.

Mena Suvari can't believe the hideous colour schemes some people choose for their Smart cars. I'm not sure how much I can tell you about this one without spoiling the experience. Mena Suvari gets Stephen Rea "Stuck" in some way that I shan't reveal, and has to deal with him while still running her everyday life as a nurse. Not a million miles away in concept from Misery, but poles apart in tone, Stuck will surprise you and make you chuckle in places you really know you shouldn't. Unwisely billed as a "horror thriller", I'm not at all sure you're supposed to take it seriously - it certainly works better if you don't. Give it a try if you're bored with the mainstream.

I enjoyed this film: 4/5

I think the average moviegoer will enjoy it: 3/5

Testosterone Satisfaction Rating: 2/5 - some grim dark humour, drug dealing and Mena Suvari's baps, last seen all those years ago in American Beauty.

To enjoy this film: put your dark hat on.

Stuck was released in the USA on 30th May 2008, no general release mooted for UK.
