Many of the favourite League of Gentlemen characters are here, and they are in trouble, because the writers have decided
to stop writing for them. This puts their town of Royston Vasey in jeopardy, so the motley crew break through into the
real world and try and persuade the scriptwriters, played by themselves, to continue writing in order to save the village.
It's an idea that fits nicely with the style of the show, and gives the scriptwriters an opportunity to send themselves up
on the big screen. Reece Shearsmith's Geoff Tipps features heavily and is most amusing, as are the tiny one-line cameos
from Peter Kay and Simon Pegg. All in all it seems like everyone's having a great time and getting paid for it.
I wasn't laughing all the way through - in fact I probably only chuckled 5 or 6 times - but the rest was amusing enough
to keep me entertained. As the storyline suggests though, it feels like the characters have served their purposes now
and it's time to set them free.
