Jackass Number Two

The world doesn't need another Jackass movie. Come to think of it, the world didn't need the first one. However, when a child walks into a lamppost, you just can't help guiltily laughing.

It's their infectious enthusiasm as much as anything - every painful moment is accompanied by the team rolling around in fits of helpless laughter, which can't help but rub off on the viewer. Some of the stunts are funny in themselves - like barrelling into a moving truck whilst wearing a velcro suit - but most are simply barmy ways to get hurt. The team play tricks on each other, setting each other up mercilessly and taking the greatest of pleasure in each other's suffering. It's so lowbrow that it tickles your feet, but nevertheless it's impossible not to laugh here and there - as always with this type of stuff, some of it falls flat, but there's enough gold to let you prop up the bar remembering your own favourite moments with your similarly sick buddies. For the gross-out fans, there is the inevitable smattering of hideous antics - I retched on three separate occasions, including the eating-horse-shit episode. And there's an even worse horse consumption item later on...

Jackass Number Two does all that can be expected of it. Some tiresome moments, some hilarious ones - you know what you're going to see, and it'll live up to your expectations.

I enjoyed this film: 4/5

I think the average moviegoer will enjoy it: 4/5 - not for those with a weak stomach though!

Testosterone Satisfaction Rating: 5/5 - I never thought I'd give a 5 to any movie featuring only male nudity (well, except for one continent of a woman .. shudder) but there's no argument. Having said that though, there's nothing that a 15 certificate wouldn't cover.

To enjoy this film you should: laugh at others' misfortunes.
