Cry_Wolf - with an underscore, this is the computer age, you know - has a very silly storyline. Kids invent a serial
killer, spread the rumour and it comes true? Oh come on. However, beyond all expectations, the writers managed to craft
an almost believable explanation, provided you can ignore some of the less carefully presented details. I certainly
didn't see it coming. The story is, though, the only ingredient that troubles the plus list. Sure, Jon Bon Jovi's in it,
which may attract a few fans, and Midnight Caller's Gary Cole appears in a supporting role, but the rest of the cast are
unknown and unlikely to be in any casting director's Favourites. Some look way too old to be high school kids too,
in particular 26 year old Lindy Booth as the flame-haired temptress in ankle socks - jailbait she most definitely is not,
which is nice, because you can feel better about perving. The dialogue is highly derivative and the attempt to attract
the computer generation falls flat on its face thanks to a few elementary mistakes that any tech-savvy kid will spot in an
instant. Not your classic thriller, then.
